a mobile phone displaying Warm-Up of the Week: breathing exercise, awareness, ease of effort. If any part of the body is exerting too much tension, the best way to detect this and then eliminate it is to give it a little wiggle. The stress breath/happy breath exploration gives students that experience. Instead of trying to "breath correctly," they respond with a natural reflex and discover a more relaxed inhalation that helps them to sing with less tension. Begin with a scenario that creates a moment of surprise or stress.

Meet Nikki Loney

For more than 30 years, I’ve worked with young singers and the teachers who support them. Through FULL VOICE Music, I’ve had the privilege of working with music educational specialists and the honour of helping thousands of voice teachers build engaging lessons, confident students, and thriving studios.

Teaching Young Voices is where I share the ideas, observations, and practical teaching strategies that continue to shape my own work in the studio.

I hope you’ll join us.
